  1. Not just the best pizza in Vienna but also a great authentic Italian restaurant

I discovered this place after being referred to me by one of the shop girls at Gucci store on the Graben. I was looking for a great place to have lunch nearby. You walk through a building and find this charming Italian restaurant where you can also dine outside in the summer months. Me and my my Girlfriend are both italian and hard critics of italian cuisine but we loved it!

Regina Margherita is in a prime location in the centre of Vienna in Palais Esterhazy, just off the Kohlmarkt close to the Hofburg or Imperial Palace. In the summer you can sit outside in the Hof or courtyard, but the interior is beautifully decorated and is well suited to an intimate dinner for two or for an evening out with friends, family or colleagues.

We were particularly fond of their pizza Regina Margherita (cooked in a original neapolitan wood oven, like all their pizzas) which was better than some of the Pizza’s we have tried in southern italy and we also tried the fish and the pasta which was excellent, not to mention the desserts which are supposingly made by a pattisier who had learned his handcrafts at the famous Hotel Sacher (inventor of the Viennese Sacher Torte), so you may find it hard to resist. In our experience the service was of high standard: the staff are attentive and professional, and they are happy to serve you in German, English or Italian. As this is Vienna, you can even bring your dog with you, and they will still make you very welcome, unlike other countries we had visited.

We visited twice whilst in Vienna and would definitely return. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat real authentic italian food in the inner city of vienna!
